This object recognition algorithm is based on own pattern-matching algorithm. The algorithm is able to recognize pre-trained objects which are defined with special set of templates. Theoretically, the algorithm works with any “3D” objects which have good projection on 2D coordinates. However, natural 3D objects are covered by few templates for set of 2D projections. For limited number of object templates, the algorithm works in real-time on PC (Intel P4 3.0 GHz) .

Good Work, I have been following you now for quite some time now, as i am working on my final year project on sign language recognition system

I’ve seen all the work you’ve done in this blog, pretty amazing stuff… Question: Are you planning to release any code? We’ve been working with OpenCV for a robotics project in my university for several months now but our achievements are joke compared to yours =(

Cheers.

Hi Hans,

Thank you. We are not planning to release any code as open source.

Aleksey

Great Work!!

Would be interested to know, if these solutions are available ‘off the shelf ‘for sale.

Regards

Hi Manish,

You could discuss this question with our marketing team, see “about” page for details.

Hi Alex, I wanted to know one thing after seeing this video …

Have you trained separately for screwdriver , hammer and others ….. and then merged them into one …. or you have trained them all at one go …

I am working on Sign Language System. I have trained Gesture A and Gesture B seperately … How do I merge them or include both the xml files so that when I run my program it detects A as well as B …

Hi Shahab,

Yes, we did train each instrument separately. We have special quick search across all models.

Aleksey

Hi Alex,
Can you please elaborate and explain more about your quick search method . How are you able to detect many instruments simultaneously. I’ll be grateful

Hi Shahab,

No, I cannot. You can discuss with our marketing team regarding your project, see about page for details.

Aleksey

hai alex, nice to know you..may need some help from you..
Now i am doing my final year project which is about the open cv software..
I need to use opencv for doing object detection and colour recognation.
So can i have the coding about that?
In this project i no need to design coding but just design simple system for the application of software then i will interface it..
hope you can help me.. thanks you!

А что здесь такого чтобы не выложить каскады хаара если вы их используете, например у меня нет RoadRunner чтобы обучить их, а ждать месяц на обычной корке затратно.

Hi Alex,
How many objects could your software recognize?
How sensitive is the ability to the distance from the objects?
Could it provide spacial positioning of the objects?
Could it record the co-ordinates of the green square?
John

I ωould like to thank уоu for the еffortѕ you’ve put in writing this site. I really hope to check out the same high-grade content by you in the future as well. In fact, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get my own, personal site now 😉

I love reading through a post that will make people think.

Also, thank you for allowing for me to comment!

Hi Jason,

I am sorry, but our policy is not to share source code, so we can’t give out code to you.

Alexander
